GOP Just Got a Huge Win from New Census Data
It was expected, but people who don't follow this stuff probably hadn't realized it yet: The new Census data that just came out today is a huge win for the GOP.
The National Journal describes it as an "embarrassment of riches".
First of all, there was a big shift in Congressional states from "blue" to "red" states. Texas is the huge winner, picking up 4 seats. NY and Pennsylvania both lost seats. California failed to gain any seats for the first time.
Other red states picking up seats, according to Washington Post's Aaron Blake: FL +2, AZ, GA, SC, UT, WA, NV +1.
Will state and local politicians learn the lesson?: Enact enough job-killing policies and your clout in national politics will fall, drip by drip, decade by decade.
People go where the jobs are.
Businesses offer jobs where they are not taxed, regulated, burdened and penalized every time they make a move.
Freedom works.
Don't expect Michigan to stay blue very long. We finally got rid of Granholm, and put in a very business savvy Republican businessman. Also, Lansing is headed by Republicans now. There isn't much support of the union backed liberals in Michigan anymore. Look for big changes here.

I hope you're right. That sounds like reason for hope. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
