That does it! Obama is really, really serious about stopping Iran's nuke program now! He is even weighing new sanctions against Iran, like maybe, possibly limiting their ability to buy gasoline. (Or maybe even that is just a bluff?):
"If the Iranians are not convinced that there is a persuasive amount of economic pressure that might be applied, then they are more likely to be recalcitrant on Thursday," said Suzanne Maloney of the Brookings Institution's Saban Center.
"I don't mean to suggest it is a bluff, but the sanctions talk is to set the stage for plan A, which is the diplomacy. Everything I have heard from the administration is that they genuinely understand the difficulty of sanctions," she said.
Fortunately, I have my own secret sources, and they tell me that Obama is considering other really, really tough sanctions against Iran, like these:
- The White House may not invite Iran to next year's 4th of July parties
- Obama might set another very firm deadline, like the one that just passed. And this time, he means it, mister.
- No more Obama collector plates for you, Mahmoud!
- Or Obama might issue another strongly worded statement
- Or another toothless U.N. resolution to go with the first five that Iran ignored
- If he's really mad, Obama might accuse Iran of acting "stupidly" -- the sort of harsh talk Obama usually reserves for police officers
- And there goes Ahmadinejad's chance to ride along in Air Force One and buzz the Statute of Liberty!
- If all else fails, Obama might just have to go ahead and unilaterally disarm the U.S. nuclear force, with or without Iran. That'll show 'em!
Just kidding, mullahs. With Obama in charge, nothing's gonna happen. Well, maybe that unilateral disarmament one. Obama has already slashed U.S. missile defense.
No sanction Obama is considering -- or pretending to consider -- is likely to indimidate a regime that openly longs for and threatens the destruction of the U.S., Britain, Israel and Western Civilization, funds terrorists with blood lust and ruthlessly beats, represses, hangs, axes, rapes, tortures, and masaccres its own people.
So it looks like the nuclear apocalypse of which Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the mullahs dream is a "go," then.
