Yes, for sure, the shoe is now firmly on the other foot. The Left is railing about patriotism, and calling the center-right traitors. In fact the center-right are the loyal opposition, loyal to the Constitution. We are not loyal to demagogues, false prophets, charismatic imbeciles, or viscous mob rule.
IF YOU ATTEND A TEA PARTY
The rhetoric will ramp up on April 15 at the thousands of tea-parties. The MSM will mainly ignore the protests, but the rabid left will show up, because they think they own the streets.
Some tips from an old protester:
(1) Stick to the Truth
It is imperative that everything we say in public must be relentlessly factual. If you're not absolutely sure of your facts about something, don't talk about that. Talk about things you are completely certain about. There is plenty of ammunition there.
(2) Have a Decent Sign
Communist and Islamist organizations pre-fabricate hundreds of signs before the event. They are experienced, and know how to make good ones. Then they hand the signs out to protesters. Even the big banners are pre-fabricated and assigned to people to carry them.
Some tea parties will have pre-fabricated signs.
You don't need to have a sign. If you decide to bring your own sign, make a good one. Use white cardboard. If you can't find any, buy FOAM CORE at a stationary or art supply store. It's white, and about 1/4 inch thick. It's thin white cardboard glued onto both sides of a piece of Styrofoam. It's stiff, water-resistant and wind resistant. You can cut it to size with a box-cutter.
The proportions of the sign should be about 5 units high by 3 units wide. Keep the slogan short, and make really big capital letters. Use black house paint and a small brush, or if you must, a lot of black felt pen. The sign should be clearly readable about 100 feet away. Use a staple gun to attach the sign to a stick of wood 1" by 2" and about 4 feet long. Any hardware store or building supply will have that type of wood. Get the cheap stuff. The picket stick has to be strong enough to resist wind, but light enough you can carry it easily.
Wear gloves. Avoid big sticks. What if someone grabs it and starts hitting you with it?
(3) Beware of The Enemy in Your Midst
The French call these Agents Provocateurs. The Nazi's also used them. These will be closet Leftists who appear at these events, shouting far-right slogans and trying to incite violence with the authorities. Their goal is to publicly discredit the legitimate center-right protest.
Of course, the MSM will jump on any such events. In South Africa, Israel, Lebanon, and many other places, the MSM paid agents provocateurs, to create havoc, and make an event "more newsworthy."
(4) Do What the Police Tell You
Videos of the police shutting down a peaceful gathering are more powerful than videos showing scenes of street violence.
(5) Record events
Not just video recorders. Most cell phones will take pictures, and many will take short movies.
Photograph any protester or policeman who gets out of line. Photograph police badge numbers and patrol car numbers. The badge numbers are usually on the shoulder epaulets of the police tunics.
Do it because we are all citizen journalists now.
Cell phones will also record audio.
If you fill up the phone's memory, you can call your home number and engage your own answering machine. Then when you hold the phone up, it will record audio clips onto your answering machine. Even if your phone is lost or broken, you will have those recordings available from your home.
Do it because these are historic times, where people are standing up to defend the American Constitution. For the first time in history, the Left has seized control of the country.
Your grand-children will want to see the pictures when you tell them the stories. The stories about how we won.
