U.S. private sector cuts 697,000 jobs in February
NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. private sector job losses accelerated in February, according to a report by ADP Employer Services that suggests hefty employment declines are on the way in the government's payrolls report due on Friday.
ADP said on Wednesday that private employers cut 697,000 jobs in February versus a revised 614,000 jobs lost in January. The January job cuts were originally reported at 522,000.
Since the economy lost 697,000 jobs in February, the Obama administration will have to "create or save" 4,697,000 jobs from March 1st forward just to break even.
Yes, I know the administration can always claim that things would have been worse without its "help," but if Obama seriously wants to claim that he "saved" hundreds of thousands of jobs in February, we're going to need some strong proof. I'd like to know now exactly which jobs were supposedly "saved" and exactly how the administration claims to have "saved" them.
Now that Obama has decided to stretch his bony fingers into every aspect of the economy, things are going so well! Let's all take time to reflect on our good fortune in having liberal Democrats in charge of both the White House and Congress.
I predict this Administration will draw it's last breath on or about the end of April.
