Victor Davis Hanson writes of the impending Obama meltdown.
Obama has made quite a mess of things, in record time.
Update: An attempt to explain what is going wrong: Obama losing the stimulus message war. Ineptitude in adapting to the White House is surely part of the problem, but the larger problem is that the policies Obama is pushing are wrong. His goal is to massively expand both spending and government control over every aspect of the economy, both of which are at the root of our current problems:
At this crucial juncture in the push to pass an economic recovery package, President Obama finds himself in the most unlikely of places: He is losing the message war.
Despite Obama’s sky high personal approval ratings, polls show support has declined for his stimulus bill since Republicans and their conservative talk-radio allies began railing against what they labeled as pork barrel spending within it.
The sheer size of it – hovering at about $900 billion — has prompted more protests that are now causing some moderate and conservative Democrats to flinch and, worse, hesitate.
The anxiety over lost momentum seemed almost palpable this week as the president in television interviews voiced frustration with his White House’s progress and the way his recovery program was being demonized as a Democratic spending frenzy.
In Obama’s own words in an NBC interview, it’s his job to “get this thing back on track.”
Yes, by all means, let's get this spending frenzy back on track! And that's what you'll see Obama's entire team and Dems trying to do this week.
It's a battle they want to win, but it has nothing to do with economic stimulus. If Dems succeed, they will burden the economy with another $900 billion in waste.
Gina Obama's not doin very good and neither is his press secretary. The video says it all. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1155201977/bctid10272038001
Transcript:
There was a bit of tension today in the briefing room between Jake Tapper and Robert Gibbs. Here's the transcript:
JT: Robert, two questions — one’s a housekeeping one. In the name of the transparency that you and the President herald so much, is there any way we could get the copies of the waivers that the OMB issues to allow certain Cabinet posts or deputy posts to be free of the ethics constraints you put up? And also the disclosure forms that your nominees put out that go to office of government ethics that somehow they are not able to email or put on the web, is there any way we can get copies of those?
RG: I will check. I don't know how those forms are distributed.
JT: Based on listening to the president’s rhetoric, I’m sure this is something he would want to do.
RG: Well, knowing of your crystal clarity on his opinion, I’ll certainly check.
JT: He doesn't believe in transparency?
RG: Did you have another more pertinent question?
JT: I think that's fairly pertinent to your cabinet nominees and whether not they pay their taxes and whether not they have speaking fees with all sorts of industries you are supposed to regulate, I think that’s fairly pertinent, you don’t?
RG: Obviously, I do. And obviously the President does.
JT OK. A majority of the American people apparently support blocking or making major changes to the stimulus bill, according to the Gallup poll. Are you worried you have lost the process of how the bill is received?
RG: No we're not. Chuck?
Then, Fresh of his Just Words Tour, turns out thats all it was Just Words
Obama Said
Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them,” the Obama-Biden campaign website states. “As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.”
Then he does this with the Schip Bill-
But Obama’s 5 p.m. signing came barely three hours after the House approved the bill, breaching Obama’s promise to have a five-day period of “sunlight before signing,” as he detailed on the campaign trail and on his website.
Then Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act only two days after it received final passage last week, and it wasn’t posted on the White House website until after it became law.

Ginna I just posted an idea over at Orly's in reference to the above post Between Trapper and Gibbs. Here is trappers blog http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/
My idea was can we do a cordinated comment post to ask Trapper to follow up on the admin. transperency and encourage him to ask about why the president is fighting multiple lawsuits and why he just won't show the vault BC and all other records. World Net Daily has a post today about their correspondent, where he trapped Gibbs and asked why are only a handfull of reporters able to ask mulitiple questions at the press briefs and others can't ask one. I did not know that once the AP reporter says Thank-you the press briefing is over. There is no time limit, the AP reporter controls it.

Sorry should have put this in for the link.http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/02/todays-qs-for-1.html#comments This is the link to the press briefing with a 100 plus comments. I started reading some of them and I find it strange that there are no NBC or BC post. We can do a little expirement and do a cordinated attack on the comment section to see if they post those comments.

Alright i just took the lead and posted this. It shows it's there lets see how long it sticks.
Jake, I see most of the comments here are complimenting you on a fine job. I also would like to say fine job, however I find it very hard to believe when it comes to transperency this administration has zero, nada, zilch. Lets see how long it takes you to get what you ask for. With over 40 lawsuits that have made it to the federal level and five cases conferenced at SCOTUS. With retired Military Officers now filing suit all to get the president to have Hawaii release THE ORIGINAL VAULT BIRTH CERTIFICATE maybe you'll have better luck with your request. If not get in line and file your own suit.

During this recession time when lots of people are loosing their jobs, then as a person who is running the world's economy his priority should be to get the things back on track. To establish freindly relationships with other countries with a effort to get rid of this recession time.
But what he is doing? He is funding billion of $s to countries who are solely responsible for terrorism all over the world. Why can't we have these $s invested in some constructive area which generates the jobs and money for the people.
As a American President he has simply disgraced the post which he is holding. He came out with a promise that he will get the things back on track. But where the results are? Still people are loosing jobs. Does he want to convey a message that give me next 2 yrs to get everything on track and then I will see who all are still there to see the changes which I am gonna bring up......
