It's hard to put my finger on it. It's very difficult to discern what is going on in federal politics right now. More about discernment here.
It's a strange feeling. Obviously I object to Obama as President. I object to this bizarre stonewalling on eligibility, his low morality, his leftism.
But honestly, even if I put all that aside, and think about what he is doing in these few days since he took office, Something Just Does Not Feel Right. His behavior is strange to me.
I know quite a bit about radicalism, and how it works, and how it succeeds. But I've never seen anything, or read about anything like this. The pace of radical change is breathtaking.
Why all these changes at once, in the very beginning? I have never heard of this approach to radical change being successful. Almost every radical movement I know of has occurred more slowly than this. Castro's revolution is a good example. He took power with the acceptance, even the encouragement of the US. He replaced a ruthless dictator. But then, over about 18 months, Castro made a gradual transition from a center-left reformer to being a full-throated communist.
This dawned on his American sponsors, and the Cuban people, only very slowly. Even when Castro declared himself a communist, most people didn't quite believe it. In other words, Castro eased people into radical reform. Every radical I can think of did it this way.
But Obama jumped on revolution from day one.
When a leader takes control, they must be careful, they cannot suddenly demand a raft of sudden fundamental changes all at once. Every day Obama announces two or three fundamental changes. Everything from banking policies, to cars, to greenhouse gases, to weapons in space.
He seems determined to continue on at this pace, imposing change after change at break-neck speed. The changes are so radical and numerous I can't keep up. Already the weird appointments, rule changes, and executive orders are conflicting with each other.
Only a very strong, well-supported leader can risk this pace of change. The leader would have to have a very large majority supporting him, and to be introducing changes that the people strongly wanted.
But Obama is actually very weak and vulnerable.
Obama is seen as charismatic by some, but vomitously repugnant by others. He is ineligible to be President, and he knows it. The lid on this could blow off at any time. The people who voted against him or who abstained, outnumber the people who voted for him. And as with all Presidents after an election, his popularity is rapidly slipping.
Obama is either desperately inexperienced, or he means to do America harm, and he wants to do as much harm as possible, as soon as possible. I hope it's the former, and not the latter.
But I tell you, something is up. Something just does not feel right.

YOU GOT IT RIGHT.... Obama is out to destroy America as we know it. that somehting you feel in your gut is what I have been feeling since September.

Agreed, and unfortunately, he's off to a roaring start.

The intent is to make changes that cannot be reversed when people wake up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{From DR -- I'd afraid you may be right. I certainly hope people wake up soon. They might. All these sudden and dramatic changes might wake people up.
It looks like the Supreme Court won't save the day. I think they have only abut one month left to do something. After that I don't think it will be possible to stop Obama through the courts.
He could issue an Executive Order at any time which re-defines the meaning of "natural born citizen". He could include himself within this new definition. It's unconstitutional, but he has successfully ignored the Constitution so far.
The Democrats show no interest in opposing anything Obama does, and the Republicans can't stop Obama by themselves.
It seems the defense of the Constitution will fall to the American people.
To succeed by that route, many millions of Americans will have to stand up and make their demands known, loud and clear. The opposition will have to be multi-partisan and very broadly based. They will have to bypass both political parties and take their case directly to Washington.
There have been many times in the past when the USA faced collapse, and the people came through to preserve the Republic. But no empire is immortal. This could be the end of democracy, free enterprise, and prosperity in America.
Right now, democracy is losing badly.
