Maybe Palin has more Google hits than other actresses - isn't that a more relevant comparison? Do you really take this person's candidacy seriously? Unfortunately, the main thing to get serious about concerning Gov.Palin is her extreme cruelty to animals. But really, I'm here to suggest you feature the truth about John McCain (i.e. the enormously important fact of McCain's connection to Keating, and the official condemnation of judgement that McCain received for this from his peers - this is a relevant fact that every voter should think about). Put something here, in other words, that is true and helpful in making a good voting decision. The slurs I see on this site are lies and suggestions of lies about Senator Obama. Luckily most of the nation knows them for what they are - lies - because the American people, for the most part have good sense. We know this strategy is the strategy of a party that doesn't have too much good right now that can be said about their own people, so they keep lying about the other side. One last point -from the New York Times: "One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month from the end of 2005 through last month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement."

Shirley, I would normally just delete your comment because it contains false and misleading statements. But in the interests of educating you, since you probably are not aware of where your statements are false or misleading, let's take it one by one:

1. "Maybe Palin has more Google hits than other actresses - isn't that a more relevant comparison? Do you really take this person's candidacy seriously?"

Yes I do take her candidacy seriously. She's not an actress. She is the governor of Alaska and is very politically adept. She has a track record as a reformer in Alaska and an 80% approval rating from Alaskans who have seen what she can do as governor.

2. "Unfortunately, the main thing to get serious about concerning Gov. Palin is her extreme cruelty to animals."

I am not a vegetarian. I love animals. Howver, I do not consider killing a food animal cruel in itself. If you do, that is your choice. I consider it a poor basis on which to pick a president. A president has far bigger fish to fry, if you'll pardon the expression.

3. "But really, I'm here to suggest you feature the truth about John McCain (i.e. the enormously important fact of McCain's connection to Keating, and the official condemnation of judgement that McCain received for this from his peers - this is a relevant fact that every voter should think about)."

With all due repect, by your comment you reveal that you know nothing about the Keating Five. Do you realize that McCain was exonerated and that he was kept in the case only on order to prevent it from being all Democrats? When you've learned more about that fact, as confirmed by the chief legal investigator Robert Bennett -- a Democrat -- please let me know.

4. "One last point -from the New York Times: "One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month from the end of 2005 through last month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement."

If you really cared about who is responsible for the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac crisis, you would look at John McCain's speech and co-sponsorship of a bill YEARS AGO in which he warned of this impending crisis and tried to head it off.

You would look at the fact that Barney Frank insisted years ago that there was no crisis in Fannie MAe/Freddie Mac and you would look at the fact that Democrats shot down the reform bill. This is confirmed on videotape of Barney Frank in hearings.

You would consider the fact that Bush warned of the impending crisis numerous times in the last 12 months alone -- and that the do-nothing Congress controlled by Democrats for the last two years did nothing about it.

You would focus on the fact that Obama is a top recipient of cash from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Instead, your are focusing on contributions to someone who is not even John McCain himself, and not even McCain's adviser himself, and you are ignoring McCain's call for reform years ago and the fact that McCain himself is was not a top recipient of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac contributions--Obama was and is.

Your selective statements that ignore every exonerating fact about McCain and every damaging fact about Democrats and Obama is pure partisanship, and it demonstrates a high degree of distortion in whatever websites you are getting your information from.

There is much more available for you to learn if you approach it with intellectual honesty and have the courage to give equal time to the right and the left.

Please keep learning and come back again.
