Suddenly, Palin, whose husband is part Inuit (Eskimo), whose children are part Inuit, and who has lived cheek by jowl with Indians and Inuit her whole life, is now a racist. Yeah, that'l work.
To me this is a good sign. Obama is worried.
It's like when Muslim leaders begin to call loudly for Jihad, and try to gather a unified Muslim front against the "infidels" (e.g., Christians, Jews, Sufis, Alawites, Druze, Shia, Sunni, etc.) Normally Muslim leaders keep themselves busy stabbing each other in the back. When one of them calls for Jihad, everyone knows they're losing. The book, "The Crusades From Arab Eyes" explains this process in detail.
Similarity, Obama may feel deeply threatened by Sarah Palin. If he's not, he should be. Even in Obama's home town of CHICAGO, internet users are searching more often for information about Palin than Obama. This has been going on since McCain named her.
I have blogged about the racism card before. Everywhere in America, polls show that 90% to 95% of blacks are solid for Obama. That is one poll result I believe. That means the campaign is already divided by race. Furthermore, Blacks cannot determine what happens in the next month, because they have already committed to Obama. Many states are still in play, so logically, it's the Whites and Chicanos who will decide the outcomes there.
By playing the racism card, Obama is positioning the contest as Blacks against Whites and Chicanos. That tactic might have been enough to bring politically correct Dems onside in the primaries. But fringe democrats, PUMAs, independents, and fringe Republicans may be turned off. It's dangerous to imply that Whites and Chicanos must vote Black or they're racists. They may respond by voting White. They won't tell pollsters, they will just go into the voting booth and do it.
IN MY OPINION, if Obama plays the "race" card instead of the "merit" card, he should lose. That would be a fair outcome. Obama's only true "card" is his merit to lead as President. NO CANDIDATE, of any race, color, or creed, should claim an election because of their race, color, or creed. They should be elected on their merit to lead as President.
