The Bakken Oil Giant

It's a very large reservoir:

Anticlines are huge "waves" of underground sedimentary rock which are often associated with oil reservoirs.  Bakken could contain 200 billion barrels.  The democrats may try to block it.  Socialists need shortages in order to ration, and thereby control the economy.  They have blocked almost all petroleum-extraction proposals in recent decades.

Nevertheless, Bakken is booming, with all the scent of an oil rush about it.  New underground fracturing technology is helping a lot:

What to do if the Dems block it (could be some endangered prairie dogs or something)?  Come to Canada and help us drill from here.  All the oil will go to the U.S. anyway.  Saskatchewan has already started ramping up on Bakken. Prairie dogs? We don't have any.

Ha! I missed this post. My Boss's father and uncle own the mineral rights and are now pumping 1 well with additional wells to be drilled this year... right in the heart of this formation.

Private land owners who also own the mineral rights are taking advantage of the current situation. For some reason, my boss always has a sunny disposition.
