Sarandon threatens to move to Canada unless the U.S. becomes a Communist state RIGHT NOW. Her departure from the U.S. would be a good thing, but please not to Canada, I for one don't want her here.
After Bush was elected a second time many American leftists threatened to move to Canada. However there were no changes in immigration patterns from the U.S. after the Bush re-election.
Thank goodness.
However I do support Sarandon's basic idea: DO NOT LIVE IN A COUNTRY YOU HATE.
I suggest she consider the People's Democratic Republic of Laos. It remains one of the few remaining one-party Communist states. Remember the "Domino Theory" of South-East Asia? Well she can live in one of the dominoes.
Ms. Sarandon could bask in an authentic worker's paradise. It is one of the world's least developed countries, with a GDP per capita of $1,900, subsistence agriculture, grinding poverty, a short life expectancy, high infectious disease rates, political persecution, intermittent starvation, arbitrary killings, and unending civil unrest.
Go Susan Go!
Laos is not a perfect worker's paradise because capitalism is making inroads and the economy is growing because of it. But it's the best I can do, pure Communist countries are in short supply these days.
