100 Words Every High School Graduate Should Know

I know this isn't exactly the top breaking story today, but here are 100 words every high school graduate should know.

Frankly, I think the list is a bit of a stretch as a minimum level of attainment for high school students.  I have a very large vocabulary and use language to make my living, and I'm fuzzy on the meanings of a few of the words.  Clearly, this is the kind of a list only a dictionary publisher would put together.

Still, it wouldn't hurt a high school grad to take this list and study up.  You can score a bit higher on college essays, at least in the liberal arts, if you occasionally throw in a few appropriately $5.00 words like unctuous, jejune and evanescent. 

Just try not to come across as pedantic or supercilious, OK?
