Victor Davis Hanson asks, and answers, an important question:
Why did a majority of Democratic senators — such as Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Harry Reid, Jay Rockefeller, and Chuck Schumer — vote to authorize a war with Iraq on Oct. 11, 2002? And why is this war now supposedly George Bush’s misfortune and not theirs?
It's a question that too many on the left have forgotten to ask themselves -- or would rather forget.
History will not forget. Read Hanson's piece.
If we are to be a steady, honorable nation and a positive force in the world, we can't credibly vote one way in late 2002 and then flee with our tail between our legs four years later, blaming our commander in chief for our own lack of backbone to see a tough conflict through to victory.
