Next time you hear Democratic politicians talk about Americans who "work hard and play by the rules," take a look at how well -- or poorly -- all the Democratic candidates for president played by the rules at their first joint appearance this week.
Not a single one of them adhered to the pre-established seven-minute time limit, and they were all way, way overtime by many minutes. The red signs that spelled out TIME in large, unmistakeable letters meant nothing to them.
Some of the candidates, Hillary Clinton included, broke other rules of the forum as well, exceeding the limit on the number of campaign signs she was allowed to display by 200%.
If the Democratic candidates show this little regard for abiding by the rules in public when everyone is watching, it makes you wonder what they do when nobody is looking! Apparently they can rationalize just about any breach of the rules in their own minds.
As we learned all too painfully during Bill Clinton's administration, I guess it all depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is.
