As 2006 draws to a close, it's time to count our blessings.
Let's give it some thought, shall we?
What were the best things that happened in the world in 2006? Even amid many troubles, there is always good. I'm reviewing the year right now, and sometime this week I'll share my "best of 2006 list" with you. If there's something that you think belongs on the list, let me know! Of course, any such list will be incomplete because there must be a million blessings every day that we'll never even hear about, but let's give it a try anyway.
While we're at it, what were the ten best things that happened in your life in 2006? I always make a list for myself at year's end, starting with the first ten things that come to mind, even trivial things like a cup of coffee I'm enjoying or big things like watching my children grow. Then over a few days, I think of blessings I'd forgotten and I improve on my "10 best things of the year" list. By the time I'm done, I always realize that I have much to be grateful for that I had forgotten.
What if 2006 was a really rough year for you?
Then acknowledge it, but make a list of the ten best things anyway.
Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some. -- Charles Dickens
If you have many blessings, it's very important to count them.
If you have very few blessings, it's even more important to count them!
A list! This'll take some thinking, I fear. But I have all day at work to cogitate, so I may have one by the time I get home. A good idea, Gina.
Thanks for the link! Very kind of you!
I hope your Christmas Holiday has been splendid!
