It had to happen sometime. And now it has.
Today is the one-year anniversary of this website, and my blogging career.
For those mildly curious, my first post was on November 8, 2005: What Do All These Countries Have in Common? (I think it holds up fairly well. Sadly, they are still burning cars in France. And Islamic terrorism is still a global menace, not a response to something that any particular country is doing "wrong.")
Today, 365 days and about 1,000 posts later, I feel as if I'm still just getting started. And, like some others, I feel as if I was born to blog.
It's been tremendous fun.
To each and every visitor here, thank you!
To LaShawn Barber, who wrote about blogging in a way that made it seem easy and fun -- thank you!
And to each and every blogger -- the trailblazers and the newly minted, the well-known and the quiet, the quick and the thoughtful, the serious and the funny -- thank you! It's been a privilege to watch all of you, to learn from you, and to admire and enjoy what you do.
Congratulations on the birthday!

Keep on blogging! It makes me feel just every so slightly more sane to know like-minded people are out there--especially such smart ones!
