Another day, another fake news story bashing President Bush, this time over Hurricane Katrina.
This time, the "breaking news" is that President Bush was told before Hurricane Katrina hit that it would be a really big storm that might even top the levees!
That's very interesting.
Except that everybody knew before Hurricane Katrina hit that it would be a very big storm and the levees might be topped.
Like the Associated Press, for example, which reported that "Katrina's storm surge would likely top the levees . . . ."
And the New York Times, which reported Mayor Ray Nagin's statement that "The storm surge most likely will topple our levee system."
Gateway Pundit does such a good job of tearing apart the rest of this fake breaking news that I will just get out the way and give you the link here.
And it there's anything left after Gateway Pundit is done, Ed Morrissey at Captain's Quarters disposes of it here and Powerline stomps on any remaining shreds here.
Update 3/3/06: There's yet another break in the story: Another Breach in the Levy of Leftist Katrina Coverage
