$173 Million in Checks Found in Bernie Madoff's Desk
Investigators have found $173 million in checks in Bernie Madoff's desk:
NEW YORK – Prosecutors said Thursday that investigators found 100 signed checks worth $173 million in Bernard Madoff's office desk that he was ready to send out to his closest family and friends at the time of his arrest last month.
The detail was provided in a court filing Thursday as prosecutors argued that Madoff should have his bail revoked and be sent to jail. They said the checks were further evidence that he wants to keep his assets away from burned investors.
That reminds me -- I should really clean out my desk.
I think I have a couple of quarters in there.
What's in your desk?

I have two royalty checks from my historical novel sitting on my messy desk. Both are for less than $5 each. I could use one of Madoff's checks right about now!

Well, Mr. Keenan, at least you have a few checks that have come in from royalties of your book, my last royalty on my book came about two years ago and the book is out of print now, so I don't expect that there will be any other royalties in the future, unless I find another publisher for it. I noticed that you used Lulu, have you been happy with them? Your book kooks interesting. I am also a reviewer with MyShelf.com
