Hey wait!  Alfred has just brought me a book.  It's called "Self-Correcting Problems in Macroeconomics."  He put a sticky in  Chapter 7, "Economic Crises Within Socialist Economies"... 

Hmm, it says, "Because of their inherent fiscal inflexibility and designed-in resistance to market forces, socialist economies are extremely prone to failure.  Furthermore, since their capacity for self-correction has been disabled by this designed-in resistance, these economies generally cannot be rescued by external injections of capital.
