AP Jacks Rates, Newspapers Bail

Lots of city newspapers are threatening to dump AP, with more to follow.  There's always Al Reuters. 

I smell opportunity.

The number and quality of news bloggers are increasing.  A consortium of quality-content bloggers could band together to form a news wire service.  A small group of editors could select the best stories, pictures, and videos from reputable bloggers.  These could be packaged and sold to newspapers and TV networks.  The bloggers  would get paid for the content that was used.

I would far rather read the news about Israel, or Lebanon, or New Orleans from someone who knows the area, and knows what's really going on.  No spin, just facts. That's how I read the news now, but it takes a lot of pointing and clicking.
