Michelle Obama Expressed Lack of Pride in America at Least TWICE
Via Jawa Report and Gateway Pundit, Michelle Obama has made the same speech slapping at America at least twice -- in one speech she said, "For the first time I am really proud of my country . . ." In the second speech she said, "For the first time I am proud of my country . . . ."
That means this backhanded slap at America was no gaffe; it was Michelle Obama's prepared speech.
It raises the question of what Michelle Obama has been doing all these years. She's obviously been hanging out in a crowd that seems to encourage and applaud lack of pride in America.
And how is it that this woman has gone through this many years of adult life without one moment of pride in her own country?
Even if her "pride" in America is reserved for moments when African Americans advance, does Colin Powell's appointment as Secretary of State mean nothing to her? How about Condoleeza Rice? Not even a tiny little twinge of pride, Michelle? I was pleased and proud of both of those moments, and I'm not even African American. It warms the heart to see equal opportunity become America's reality, not just its hope and dream.
As I wrote yesterday:
I've been "really proud" of America many times.
I was "really proud" of America when the first man stepped onto the moon.
I was really proud of America when the Berlin wall fell.
I was really proud of America when I saw an Olympic torch passing through my town.
I was really proud of America during many shuttle launches, and many shuttle safe returns, and even in the aftermath of shuttle disasters, when leaders like Ronald Reagan reminded us what America and its space program are all about.
I was really proud of America when I attended a citizenship ceremony for our childrens' nanny.
I was reallly proud of America when I saw photos of Iraqis voting, holding their purple ink-stained fingers proudly in the air.
I was really proud of America when I learned what the heroes of Flight 93 had done on September 11, 2001.
I'm proud and happy to say that I've been "really proud" of America again and again and again in my adult life.
I wish Michelle Obama knew that joy. I'd hate to see any of the keys of power handed to someone who doesn't really appreciate the greatness of America.
