Zacarias Moussaoui testified in court today that he was selected by Osama bin Laden to hijack a plane and fly it into the White House as part of the terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives on Sept. 11, 2001, according to the Washington Post and other media covering the trial.

According to CNN, under cross-examination, Moussaoui also said he rejoiced at seeing the smoldering rubble of the World Trade Center and hearing a recording of a doomed flight attendant begging for her life.

He also provided a nice reminder for any Americans who are still befuddled:  "I consider every American my enemy."

"The Prophet says, 'war is deceit,' " Moussaoui testified today, according to CNN. "You're allowed to lie for jihad. You're allowed any technique to defeat your enemy."

Only the very naive or the very anti-American will be surprised by Moussaoui's testimony.  Unfortunately, there seem to be more than a handful who fall into either or both categories.

None are so blind as they who choose not to see.
