Iran is renaming "Danish" pastries as "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad."
That's quite a mouthful.
Hey, I guess it makes sense if you're Muslim and you're really upset with everyone in Denmark over the Mohammed cartoons, but I'm not going to be ordering any "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad" anytime soon.
I have to give Iran credit, though.
I know, I don't write that phrase very often. But I do have to give Iran credit. Renaming pastries is a very nonviolent form of protest.
Yay for nonviolent protest! Go Iran! For the sake of nonviolent protest, I hope that sales of Roses of the Prophet Muhammad take off and the Danes who sell Danishes are duly humbled, and pass on their displeasure to the Danes who print Mohammed cartoons, and cause them to apologize, so that once again worldwide peace and harmony are restored.
It beats the usual alternatives -- you know, burning embassies, threatening Death to Denmark, yadda, yadda.
But just thinking about Danishes is kind of making me hungry.
For no particular reason . . . I've gotta run.
