Kiss of Death for Ports Deal: Jimmy Carter Supports It
Former president and frequent friend-of-terrorists Jimmy Carter is in favor of the proposed deal to allow a United Arab Emirates firm to take over six of America's major seaports.
''The overall threat to the United States and security, I don't think it exists,'' Carter said on CNN's The Situation Room. "I'm sure the president's done a good job with his subordinates to make sure this is not a threat.''
This ringing endorsement comes from the former president who presided over the Iran hostage crisis. in which Iran held Americans hostage for 444 days, until Jimmy Carter was voted out of office and Ronald Reagan was sworn in. This from a former president who presided over double digit inflation, an energy crisis, and what Carter summed up as "malaise," all of which Carter did nothing effective to stop and in fact helped along with his misguided policies. This from the former president who is the new best friend of Hamas, the terrorist organization that has built its reputation out of murdering innocent men, women and children.
So if Jimmy Carter is in favor of the ports deal, that's a big red flag.
I don't usually make it a practice to oppose something just because someone foolish supports it. After all, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. But in this case, given how often Carter's judgment has been terribly, blatantly, flagrantly 100% wrong, I might make an exception.
