Iran: There's No Sense in Talking It to Death

Although I make my living by achieving results through the written and spoken word, I also know that there are limits to what words alone can do.

Sometimes you have to use force.

Iran knows that.  Iran has talked about the destruction of America and the destruction of Israel for a long, long time.  Iran has been at war with America since 1979.  We didn't realize it, of course.  Once the hostages came home, it was easy to overlook the terrorist attacks as isolated incidents -- one after another after another.  Drip, drip, drip.

Down_with_the_usa_4 But Iran wants more.  No more drips. They want to open up the faucets and let the death pour out.  Your death.  Mine.

Iran knows the next step -- the use of massive force -- and it is arming itself right now with nuclear weapons so that it can use force to back up its words.

Meanwhile, the civilized world, long armed with the power to use force and unaccustomed to having to use it, talks and talks and talks.

Read Why "Diplomacy" in Iran Had to Fail.

There is endless chatter:  "Do you think Iran really has nukes?  Has it been proven yet?  Are they done building the warheads yet?  Should Iran be referred to the Security Council?  Why do they need so many centrifuges?  Are they two years from having nuclear weapons?  Or only two months?  Do they really mean it when they chant 'Death to America?'?  Iran is no Iraq."

Iran is not Iraq --that's true.  Iran is worse than Iraq.  And that does not mean that Iraq was not a problem.

Iraq funded homicide bombers at $25,000 per family.

Iran is preparing for nuclear armageddon.

Unlike the civilized nuclear powers, Iran's leadership is nuts.

Menacing and nuts.

Yes, it is to our credit that we in the civilized world talk before using force.  We are after all, the civilized world.

But there are limits to what talk can do.

We either need to prepare a strong defense and help our allies do the same, or we need to disarm Iraq.  Or both.

Let's not talk it to death.

Our death.
