Bruce Willis: Die Hard American Patriot

"Hundreds of thousands of American servicemen and women are deployed across the world in the war on terror. By bringing hope to the oppressed, and delivering justice to the violent, they are making America more secure."  (George W. Bush)

Finally, a movie is on its way that depicts American soldiers fighting bravely in Iraq.

According to the Sunday Times of London, Bruce Willis is making a movie based on the heroism of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling terrorists in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.  Willis is expected to base the film on the writings of the blogger Michael Yon, a former special forces green beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and wrote about their exploits.  Willis got to know Yon through his internet war reports on Yon's blog.  “What he is doing is something the American media and maybe the world media isn’t doing,” the actor said, “and that’s telling the truth about what’s happening in the war in Iraq.”

Ed Morrissey of Captain’s Quarters predicts that the Hollywood press will treat this as a dirty little secret, sniffing at the jingoism of Bruce Willis and declining to give this effort much coverage.”  He's probably right, but I hope not.

According to World Net Daily, Willis tried to join the military during the Gulf War, but was told that he was too old.  He has also entertained the troops in Iraq with the USO.Brucewillis

Willis has even offered a $1 million reward to anyone who turns in al-Qaeda terror leaders. The Die Hard star will pay out $1 million for information leading to the capture of Osama Bin Laden, Aymen Al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.

As if that were not enough, Willis is also a national spokesperson for children in foster care.

I cannot speak to Bruce Willis' entire film career or life story.  Time and history will judge us all.  But for his service in entertaining our troops and in offering a reward for the capture of notorious terrorists who seek to destroy America, it's time for Willis to receive full credit:

Bruce Willis is an American patriot.

Support this man and his good work.

It is no wonder he and Demi split. He is so pro America and she wanted to be part of the Hollywood America haters. He and Mel show there are some freedom lovers in Hollywood; they may not be part of the "in crowd" but they are there.

His patriotism will prevent him from ever winning an Oscar. I wonder if he cares?
